Reverse Monetary Transaction

The Reverse Monetary Transaction dialog provides users the ability to reverse monetary transactions posted to an account.

From the History view, users may reverse a particular monetary (and only monetary) transaction if the monetary transaction in question has not been reversed already.  Once a monetary transaction is reversed, it may not be reversed again, or un-reversed.  The monetary transactions that have not been reversed have a Reverse hyperlink indicator in the Reversed? column on the History view.  The user may click on this hyperlink to access the Reverse Monetary Transaction dialog.  The Reverse Monetary Transaction dialog displays a drop down for the user to select the reversal transaction code applicable to the transaction and a Transaction Source.  In addition, the dialog displays, in read only mode, the details of the monetary transaction being reversed, with the purpose of the user ensuring the correct transaction is being viewed before reversing.

The reversal transaction is submitted to the Recovery Accounting Subsystem when the Save push-button is selected.  If the transaction is posted successfully the user is returned to the History view.  If errors are returned on the transaction the Messages dialog is displayed.

Depending on the transaction being reversed the payments may be removed from various or specific buckets.  Once all buckets have been adjusted accruals are brought current up to the current processing day.
