Enter an Extended Promise

You can record an Extended Promise Schedule with varying promise amounts and dates. This type of promise is unlike the long-term promise in that the promise can vary according to the due dates and amounts.  You can enter an extended promise by filling in the Extended Promise Prefill Parameters section of the dialog or directly in the Amount, Promise Date, and Payment Method  fields.  If you enter a promise via the prefill section, you must click the ”Prefill” button to expand the schedule into the individual parts on the schedule.  

You can record an Extended Promise in conjunction with one of the following activities:

When the Extended Promise option is selected, the Promise area appears.

Follow these steps to record an Extended Promise using the Extended Promise Prefill Parameters section:

  1. Enter the amount of the promise in the Promise Amount field.

  2. Select the frequency of the payment (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) from the Frequency drop down list.

  3. Enter the starting date for the payments in the Starting Date field or click the Calendar widget to select the date.

  4. Enter the total number of payments to satisfy the debt in the Number of Payments field.

  5. Select the payment method that the accountholder will use to make future payments.

  6. Click Prefill to populate the extended promise fields or click Clear to cancel your changes.

  7. Click the Clear Entries push-button to clear the promise schedule or the Reload Existing push-button to reload an existing promise schedule.  Once a new promise is saved, the previously saved promise is overwritten.

Follow these steps to record an Extended Promise using the Extended Promise Schedule section:

  1. Enter the amount for each part of the promise in the Amount field.

  2. Enter the date each payment is due in the corresponding Date field or click the Calendar widget to select the date.

  3. Select the payment method for each part of the promise.

  4. Click the Clear Entries push-button to clear the promise schedule or the Reload Existing push-button to reload an existing promise schedule.  Once a new promise is saved, the previously saved promise is overwritten.
